F. A. Q.

What should I wear for my portrait session?

Solids and small prints are preferred. Avoid bright colors and bold prints that will draw attention away from the face. Medium and dark colors always work well with most backgrounds. White and light colors look good against a white backdrop. Your clothing should be tasteful and reflect your personality. Families and groups should dress in colors of the same family such as earth tones or shades of a similar color. Avoid mixing primary colors and pastels in the same group and decide whether casual or formal attire will be worn.

How should I prepare my make-up for my portraits?

Girls: Your make-up should look natural and evenly applied. Your skin should not be shining, as it will reflect in photos. Apply your make-up as you would to go out for a special evening. Bring a light powder to re-apply if necessary.

Guys: Clean skin and a fresh shave should be fine. If you perspire a lot, ask mom or sis for some translucent powder to keep you skin from shining.

I have blemishes. Will they show? Can they be retouched?

Not to worry. Your final prints can be retouched and usually for a nominal fee. We will consult with you as to what you will want to have touched up for your final images.

I wear glasses. Will they glare?

Every pair of lenses is different and we will do our best to avoid glare or retouch it. The best choice is to remove your lenses from your frames if possible or get a loaner pair without lenses from your optometrist.
